The deputies of the Kyiv City Council settled the issues of comprehensive support for the municipal enterprises “Kyivpasstrans” and “Kyiv Metropolitan” under martial law.
According to Ukrinform, this decision was made on June 23 at the plenary meeting of the 2nd session of the Kyiv City Council of the 9th convocation, according to the official website of the City Council.
As Deputy City Chairman – Secretary of the Kyiv City Council Volodymyr Bondarenko noted, Kyiv utility companies provide safe and high-quality passenger transportation services, as well as ensure the fulfillment of mobilization tasks.
“From the first days of the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war, Kyiv transport enterprises have been performing mobilization tasks, in particular, for the functioning of the facilities of the Kyiv Metro in the shelter mode in case of air attacks. From February 24 to May 16 this year, they also carried passengers free of charge. It is necessary to ensure the constant operation of the transport infrastructure of Kyiv in the conditions of martial law and create favorable conditions for the preservation of jobs for employees. The deputies decided to provide financial support to the municipal enterprises Kyivpastrans and Kyivsky Metropoliten at the expense of the budget of the city of Kyiv in the amount of the actual expenses of these enterprises for March 2022 on wages with accruals for employees,” the report says.
The secretary of the Kyiv City Council added that in this difficult wartime, it is necessary to establish additional social guarantees for the people of Kiev and ensure the payment of wages for employees of public utilities.
As Ukrinform reported, work on resuming the contact network of trolleybuses, damaged as a result of Russian aggression, will soon be completed in Kyiv.
