Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba is preparing visits to African countries as part of the intensification of Ukraine’s relations with this continent.
The head of Ukrainian diplomacy announced this on the air of the national telethon, Ukrinform reports.
According to the minister, Ukraine’s positions in Africa have been significantly lost over the previous decades. He noted that our state has taken this direction seriously: a special representative of Ukraine for the Middle East has been appointed and AfricaThe President is holding telephone conversations with African leaders, and is also preparing the first tour of the Foreign Minister to the continent.
Kuleba specified that he plans to visit four or five countries of Sub-Saharan Africa.
“It will be exclusively the countries of Sub-Saharan Africa, not the Arab states of North Africa. We will go to Central Africa. Of course, I won’t name the countries yet, but you see – as soon as information about the intensification of our relations with the African continent began to leak out, in particular about the preparation of my tour, how Mr. Lavrov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, went to the same region, trying to seize the moment to strengthen Russia’s position there,” the minister said.
As reported, Foreign Minister of the aggressor country Sergei Lavrov visited four African countries on July 23-27: Egypt, Congo, Uganda and Ethiopia.
According to information British intelligenceLavrov most likely used the visits to blame the West for the global food crisis and enlist the support of neutral African states.
