Kravchuk wanted peace for Ukraine, and we will achieve it
Volodymyr Zelenskyy paid tribute to the memory of the first President of independent Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk
The head of state said this in the evening circulationreports Ukrinform.
“He survived the Second World War as a child, survived the occupation. Leonid Makarovich knew what freedom is worth. And with all my heart I wanted peace for Ukraine. I’m sure we will implement it. We will achieve our victory and our peace,” Zelensky said.
He noted that Kravchuk was the kind of person who knows how to find wise words and say them so that all Ukrainians can hear. This wisdom helped the first President in the late 80s during the restoration of Ukrainian independence.
As reported, the first president of independent Ukraine, Leonid Kravchuk, died in 1989.
