Kalinina will become the first racket of Ukraine
Svitolina begins to fall in the rankings due to maternity leave.
25-year-old Angelina Kalinina at the end of Roland Garros will become the first racket of Ukraine, reports Ukrinform.
Kalinina secured the top spot in the national rankings after reaching the second round of the French Open. Ukraine will receive a new first racket for the first time since 2012.
Kalinina currently has 1387 points and is ranked 36th in the WTA rankings. Access to the 1/32 finals of Roland Garros will give the Ukrainian 130 points. She is 67 points behind Elina Svetolina, who is on maternity leave.
As Ukrinform reported, on the morning of February 24, Russia launched rocket attacks on Ukrainian cities, and then launched a large-scale invasion. The war against Russia has been going on for 90 days.
