Leader of Italy’s ruling League party Matteo Salvini criticized sending weapons to Ukraine. At the same time, the politician noted that Western leaders should continue to defend Kyiv.
“Now most of the countries of the world and the majority of Italians believe that it is necessary to talk about diplomacy,” the politician emphasized, whose words are conveyed by RTL.
According to the official, the conflict in Ukraine can be resolved by dialogue. The continuation of hostilities will have an extremely negative impact on refugees and workers in Italy, Salvini concluded.
Earlier, Los Angeles Times sources said that the head of the government of the republic, Mario Draghi, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz during trips to Kyiv refused to the Ukrainian colleague Volodymyr Zelensky in the rapid transfer of weapons.
