The conflict in Ukraine and ill-considered European sanctions against Russia, which are already called excessive even in the United States, have led to the fact that in EUhowever, as well as in the USA, unprecedented inflation is noted.
The rise in prices, especially for food, hits the most sacred. And everyone has their own sacred.
For example, Germany has long been famous for its beer. Here they know how to not only make this drink, but also to use it properly – take at least the famous oktoberfest, which gathers up to six million beer lovers from all over the world.
The history of the Germans did not teach anything: in 1844, the Bavarian king Ludwig I decided to fill the treasury and raised the excise tax on beer by as much as 8%. This resulted in such riots that the monarch had to involve the army to pacify them.
German brewers, aware of the sensitivity of the issue, for many years tried not to raise the price of beer. Now we have to: according to experts, the rise in prices for raw materials is guaranteed to lead to an increase in the cost of the national drink. And not by some miserable 8%, but immediately by almost a third.
In France its own trouble: baguettes, which are considered a symbol of national cuisine, are becoming more expensive. By the way, last year the French applied to UNESCO with a request to give the baguette the status of a world heritage.
And now the “French heritage” is becoming more expensive. Immediately by 13%. Of course, this is not 30% like German beer, but it is also sensitive. And if you consider that according to statistics, every Frenchman eats an average of half a baguette per day, then on a national scale, all this is very sensitive.
