The publication notes that both sides disagree on what tactics to use to achieve peace.
A senior White House official said that Africans oppose the idea of ”punishing Russia” or insisting that Kyiv must agree to any solution.
African leaders have made it clear to the US leadership that they simply want an end to the conflict, the official said.
He added that the Americans also want to see a diplomatic solution to the conflict. However, without Ukraine, according to him, nothing will work.
The inconsistency occurs, as some countries are unhappy with the sanctions against Russia, the politician concluded.
