In the Kherson region, the Russians abducted two people – they suspect participation in the Chelebidzhikhan battalion

In the Kherson region, Russian invaders kidnapped two people on suspicion of participation in the Noman Chelebidzhikhan battalion.

According to Ukrinform, about this in Facebook reports the Crimean Tatar Resource Center (CRC).

“Over the past few days, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center has become aware of at least two cases arrests residents of Ukraine on suspicion of participation in the battalion named after Noman Chelebidzhikhan, which the Russian Federation had previously recognized as a terrorist organization,” the message says.

According to the KRC, on July 21 in the village. Salkovo, Genichesk district, Crimean Tatar Igor Khalilov was detained. He was taken out with a bag on his head and placed in the Simferopol pre-trial detention center.

“According to the Center for Journalistic Investigations, on July 22, a retired captain of the 1st rank, former commander of the Slavutich command ship of Ukraine Oleksiy Kiselev, born in 1964, was detained in Genichesk. It is known that at first the man was taken to an unknown place, where he was probably tortured, after which Alexei was also placed in the Simferopol pre-trial detention center,” the CRC notes.

These people are accused of participating in the volunteer battalion named after Noman Chelebidzhikhan, which on June 1 the Supreme Court of Russia recognized as a terrorist organization and banned its activities on the territory of the Russian Federation.

The CRC reports that during the period of full-scale war in Ukraine, the CRC recorded 10 arrests of residents of the occupied Kherson region in this “case”.

The Crimean Tatar Resource Center strongly protests and states that the detention of Ukrainian citizens in this “case” is illegal, politically motivated and criminal. This policy of the Russian Federation demonstrates the fight against the political beliefs of people in the occupied Crimea and the territory of the occupied Kherson region. The Crimean Tatar Resource Center demands the immediate release of the defendants in the “Noman Chelebidzhikhan case”, as well as all political prisoners.

As Ukrinform reported, since 2014, the CRC recorded 13 detentions of Ukrainian citizens on charges of “participation in the volunteer battalion named after Noman Chelebidzhikhan”: seven in the occupied Crimea, six in the occupied Kherson region after February 24, 2022.
