Photos of the destroyed Kharkiv were posted at bus stops in the Israeli city of Rishon LeZion, which is twinned with the Ukrainian city.
This was reported by the press service Kharkiv City Councilreports Ukrinform.
“At the bus stops of the city of Rishon Lezion (Israel), which is a partner of Kharkiv, posted 20 posters with a reminder of the bloody war in Ukraine. According to the Department of International Cooperation, the posters depict photo collages with a terrible resemblance to the events of the 1940s in Europe and photographs from the scene of hostilities in modern cities of Ukraine,” the city council said in a statement.
Such an initiative belongs to the volunteers of the organization “Israeli Friends of Ukraine”. The initiative was also supported by the Embassy of Ukraine in Israel, the Canadian non-governmental organization Ukrainian Jewish Encounter and the Rishonim Movement.
The City Council noted that such actions are also held in other foreign cities – partners of the city of Kharkov, in particular, in Warsaw (Republic of Poland).
As reported, on February 24, Russian troops launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. They shell and destroy key infrastructure facilities, carry out massive shelling of residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages.
