A conflict with the participation of peacekeepers is possible in the Balkans North Atlantic Alliance. This opinion was expressed by a State Duma deputy from United Russia. Oleg Morozov.
In an interview with RIA Novosti, he stressed that it is natural that the tension is growing right now. As the parliamentarian noted, all states that did not join the “American rank” against the backdrop of the Ukrainian conflict will soon receive a “black mark”.
“The Kosovo crisis is a way to punish Serbia. A military conflict is possible there, into which NATO peacekeepers will be drawn,” the deputy believes.
Morozov also added that it is not yet completely clear whether Serbia is ready to publicly turn to Russia for help and whether it will fight for its interests.
Earlier, representatives of the international mission under the auspices of NATO in the self-proclaimed Kosovo (KFOR) announced the readiness of the alliance to intervene in the conflict with a “threat to stability” in the northern part of the republic.
