As a result of enemy shelling in Gulyaipole, Zaporozhye region, a unique structure was destroyed – a steam mill built in 1894.
This is stated in the message of the group “Gulyaipil’s Old Life” in Facebookreports Ukrinform.
“One of the visiting cards of the settlement was destroyed – the building of the Nadezhda steam mill built in 1894. The building is a unique example of industrial architecture and is included in the historical area of the city.
It is noted that the mill was built by the merchant of the second guild Samson Saksagansky. The project and the construction itself were carried out by the well-known firm of Anton Erlanger. In 1908, the mill was bought by industrialist and landowner David Schroeder from Gulyai-Polye, the group said. According to them, the building has remained without significant changes all this time – it survived the times of the revolution, the Second World War and suffered from the current war.
As previously reported, the Russian invaders are constantly shelling Gulyaipole. There is no electricity or gas in the city, hundreds of houses have been destroyed.
