According to the press service of the “court”, Zubkov also received compensation for non-pecuniary damage in favor of the child in the amount of 616,000 rubles.
The “Court” found that the defendant, as the director of the Taigan lion park, “provided a service to demonstrate wild predatory animals to visitors with installed squeezing barriers to enclosures at an unsafe distance, thereby creating a real threat to the life and health of park visitors.”
“In September 2021, when visiting the park, a resident of the Krasnodar Territory and her young son were near the enclosure with Amur tigers, near which there was a squeeze barrier that did not comply with the norms of the current legislation of the Russian Federation, which did not provide a safe distance, and therefore the visitors ended up in close proximity to the enclosure with predators. As a result of a tiger attack, a boy born in 2020 suffered injuries to his left hand, which led to the amputation of one of his fingers,” the statement said.
Based on the results of the consideration of the case under clause “b” part 2 of article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the court imposed a sentence of 2 years 3 months in prison and a fine of 255 thousand rubles, as well as deprivation of the right to hold positions related to the implementation of organizational, administrative and administrative -economic powers at enterprises of various forms of ownership.
As specified in the press service of the “prosecutor’s office” of the Crimea, the verdict has not entered into force.
