In Chernivtsi from August 1, 15 preschool institutions will not be able to work due to the lack of shelters in them.
About this in Facebook Head of the Education Department of the Chernivtsi City Council Irina Tkachuk said, Ukrinform reports.
“From August 1, 15 preschool educational institutions cannot work due to the lack of shelters, which means they will not be able to create a safe stay for children,” Tkachuk said.
According to her, this decision caused indignation among the parents. Therefore, it was decided to admit children to preschool institutions without certificates of the parents’ work.
“Of course, the situation will not get easier, because 15 kindergartens will stop working, which means that children from here need to go to other institutions,” Tkachuk added.
She noted that from August 10, 18 kindergartens will start working, which suspended their activities during the summer holidays. Also, the Chernivtsi Education Department assumes that of those preschool institutions that stop their work due to the lack of shelters, after finalizing the remarks of the special commission, five will be able to start working.
As Ukrinform reported, the government noted that the new academic year should start in Ukraine in full-time mode – for this, bomb shelters should be equipped in schools and kindergartens.
In Uzhgorod, only a few kindergartens have bomb shelters, so the mayor’s office advises the heads of kindergartens to conclude agreements with the nearest institutions regarding shelters in order to be able to work from September 1.
