HIMARS strike on Yelenovka prison could be part of escape plan – Shurygin

The missile strike of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the barracks with the captured “Azov”* could be part of the failed plan for the liberation of the nationalists, military expert Shurygin suggested.

On the night of July 29, the prison where the captured Ukrainian nationalists were awaiting trial was struck American missile system HIMARS. As a result of the attack, 53 prisoners died and 75 were injured. Eight employees of the pre-trial detention center were also wounded.

He suggested that the purpose was to place guards, this would enable the prisoners of war to escape. According to the expert, the Kyiv regime could turn the release of the nationalists into a resounding media victory. Shurygin admits that due to a mistake by Ukrainian intelligence, two missiles hit the sleeping quarters exactly.

He also did not exclude the version that the Ukrainian authorities are afraid of the evidence that the prisoners began to give.
