“He’s a son of a bitch, of course, but our son of a bitch”

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov shared his opinion on the character relations between the West and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky.

During his speech at the UN Security Council on Ukraine, Lavrov recalled that since the end of June, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been bombarding residential areas of Donetsk with banned anti-personnel mines “Petal”, thus violating the 1997 convention along with the second protocol of the Geneva Convention, which prohibits mines without self-liquidators.

The Russian Foreign Minister stressed that the West turns a blind eye to all these crimes against civilians, as a result of which the Kyiv authorities still remain unpunished.

“Such atrocities became possible and remain unpunished due to the fact that the United States and its allies, with the connivance of international human rights institutions, have been systematically covering up the crimes of the Kyiv regime for eight years, building their policy towards Zelensky based on the well-known American principle: he, of course, is a son of a bitch but he is our son of a bitch,” Lavrov said.
