London, Jan 13. Gabriel Jesús, Arsenal striker, is still “far from returning”, as confirmed by his coach Mikel Arteta.
The Brazilian striker suffered a knee injury during the Qatar 2022 World Cup and has not played for Arsenal since November 12.
“He is doing well with the deadlines we set for him, but he is still far from returning,” Arteta said at a press conference.
“I would like to have him back as soon as possible, but I don’t think it will happen. We’ll see.”
His loss is one of the reasons why Arsenal is probing the winter market to strengthen. Shakhtar Donetsk attacker Mykhailo Mudryk is one of the players most likely to arrive at Arseanl this January.
“We can’t talk about other players. We need to sign and we’re working on it,” admitted Arteta. EFE
