FSB prevented the terrorist attack of the “Right Sector” * in Lipetsk

FSB officers prevented an attempt to commit a terrorist attack in Lipetsk. According to the service, the perpetrators were representatives extremist organization “Right sector”*.

According to the FSB, the alleged criminals were detained in the Lipetsk village of Goritsy. According to law enforcers, the radicals acted under the control of the Security Service of Ukraine. Investigators also said that the terrorists planned to detonate a high-power homemade bomb at a transport facility.

“Three citizens of Ukraine who had previously arrived in Russia were detained: a man born in 1988 and two women born in 1986 and 1978, who are part of a sabotage and reconnaissance group,” the FSB said.

According to service workers, the leader of the suspects is a man convicted several times for pedophilia. In the attackers’ cache, they found parts of a homemade explosive device and correspondence with other members of the terrorist organization. Law enforcers opened a criminal case.

* “Right Sector” was recognized by the decision of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation dated 11/17/2014 as an extremist organization, its activities are prohibited on the territory of the Russian Federation.
