French Foreign Minister called Putin’s four strategic mistakes
French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian believes that Putin made four strategic mistakes by starting a war against Ukraine
He said this on the air of the TV channel BFMTVreports Ukrinform.
“The first mistake is to think that Ukraine will fall… On the contrary, the Russian attack strengthened Ukrainian unity. This has created a nation that is fighting heroically,” said the head of French diplomacy.
Putin’s second mistake, in his opinion, was “to think that Europe would be timid in its reaction, but it turned out the other way around. Russian aggression forced Europe to move towards the dynamics of decisions and unity… That is, Putin directly strengthened the solidarity of the European Union,” the minister said.
The third mistake, according to Le Drian, concerns NATO, in relation to which in recent years “there have been questions, doubts about solidarity.” “And as a result of the intervention, the alliance returned to its foundations, to collective solidarity in the Euro-Atlantic space.”
And finally, speaking of Putin’s fourth mistake, the minister said: “I think he overestimated the strength of his army.”
At the same time, Le Drian noted that the war could be “long and hard”, so Ukraine needs help.
