France banned its basketball players from playing in Russia and Belarus

The French Basketball Federation (FBF) banned the players of their national teams from playing in the championships of Russia and Belarus until the end of the war in Ukraine.

According to press office FBF, basketball players who have already signed contracts with Russian or Belarusian teams will not be called up to the French national teams (men’s and women’s), Ukrinform reports.

All players and members of the national teams who are called up to the national team must sign a statement according to which they will not cooperate with Russian or Belarusian teams during the war in Ukraine.

If these rules are not followed, players or staff will not be allowed to join national teams.
