Lugansk can’t wait to go home. It is felt externally. The city is hung with billboards with unpretentious but life-affirming slogans: “The future is only together with Russia”, “We are one people”. Rare balcony – without the Russian tricolor. Flags – on cars, bicycles, motorcycles …

– Take it, please, – a girl-volunteer holds out a white-blue-red ribbon near the government building.

A convoy of minibuses, accompanied by a traffic police car, drives up to him. People of all skin colors crawl out of them. LPR Foreign Minister Vladislav Deineko presents them with accreditations of international observers.

“I hope that what you will hear and see here will be brought to the attention of the public of your countries,” the minister admonished the guests from abroad. – The LPR has been going to this referendum for a very long time. And today you have the opportunity to watch the long-awaited event with your own eyes. Thank you for finding the strength and determination in yourself, despite the fact that many Western countries are categorically against what is happening now.

– Sasha, brotherly heart, – one of the observers suddenly flew up to me, in which I recognized my old friend from Serbia, professor of international law Dejan Mirovich.

– Well, how are you as a professor? I ask a Balkan comrade.

The presence of foreign observers here gives the vote that minimum of legitimacy that is necessary to declare with all responsibility: we did everything honestly.

– I see that this is actually a democratic process, there is no pressure. And what Frau Burbock said, as if the only thing they do here is to shoot and rape, is not true. Actually a big turnout. As for me personally, I know what the West and NATO did to Serbia and Yugoslavia. And so we understand everything. And I want to add that the West criticizes this referendum, but forgot that when Kosovo declared independence, there was no referendum. And this is the real hypocrisy of the West.

– Serbia has a complicated attitude towards this process. Because you have a precedent with Kosovo. It is unlikely that these elections will be recognized at the state level in Belgrade…

– We had big demonstrations in support of Russia and NWO. We will see if there will be sanctions against Russia from our side. But the people are really against them. Because this is a stab in the back to our brothers who help us, first of all, as you said, with regard to Kosovo, Bosnia and the Republika Srpska.

On the fifth day of voting, stationary polling stations finally opened. Until the last moment, their location was kept secret for security reasons. For the previous four days, mobile PECs had been working on buses, as well as visiting commissions that walked through the porches and private houses, knocking on every apartment. In the morning, the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked Alchevsk with Haimars, where polling stations had to be moved to bomb shelters. Schools, universities and the Russian Drama Theater opened their doors in Lugansk.

“For eight years we have been at the forefront of the Russian world, we have always been at the forefront of our culture, and Donbass has always been the heart of Russia,” Roman Oleksin, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth of the LPR, who came to the theater to vote, does not hide his emotions. – Many thanks to the President of the Russian Federation for the support that was felt here in the heart. I am sure that together we will defeat the enemy who is trying to spread his ideology. The Great Patriotic War was won by the Soviet Union, its legal successor is Russia. Yesterday we opened the restored memorial complex “Unconquered” in Krasnodon on the site where the Young Guards were executed. Young people who were not afraid to resist fascism. And now we will also defend our land and the Russian world.

– In France, the big media deliberately ignore that something important is happening here. Because it contradicts the point of view of the West. And I hope that my presence here will change that attitude at least a little. At least for those people who want to sincerely understand what is happening, the Frenchman Thierry Saint-Hermes admitted to me.

– Firstly, I wanted to make sure that people here live normally after that terrible period of the war. Now the Lugansk region is much more peaceful. Secondly, I wanted to check the progress of the referendum. This is a historic moment, it is very important. Thirdly, I want to understand the social status of the people living here, the situation with their rights. I want to understand whether the West is telling the truth or not. And so far my impression is that everything they say in the West is not true. Absolute fakes, – shared the Italian lawyer Marco Patta.

Of course, from their words, the West will not turn around 180 degrees and will not change its position on what is happening in the Donbass. However, the presence of foreign observers here gives the voting that minimum of legitimacy that is necessary to declare with all responsibility: we did everything honestly. And I personally had no doubts about how people would vote.
