For employees who go to the front, jobs will be saved

After demobilization, the serviceman will be able to return to the same organization and to the same position where he worked before entering military service under a contract or mobilization. The United Russia amendments will close the gaps in labor legislation, due to which the employer is now not obliged in such situations to keep the employee’s job and can terminate the employment contract, said one of the authors of the bill, secretary of the party’s general council Andrey Turchak.

“The changes we proposed will also make it possible to count the period spent in military service into seniority, leave additional insurance, non-state pension provision, and opportunities to improve social and living conditions for the employee,”the politician said.

In addition, family members of such servicemen will receive additional guarantees.

“In particular, the pre-emptive right to retain the workplace in the event of a reduction in staff in the organization. The employer will not be able to involve such employees in overtime work and send them on business trips without their consent. The amendments prepared by us will be adopted as soon as possible. Similar changes to preserve jobs will affect civil servants,” – concluded Andrey Turchak.

Amendments to the Labor Code, among other things, will systematically consolidate the measures provided for by the decree of the federal government.
