The first 27 Ukrainian mental health professionals have completed their training at the NATAL Israel Trauma and Resilience Center, which specializes in war and terrorism-related trauma and stress. The wife of the President, Olena Zelenska, congratulated them on completing the course.

“With the very powerful acquired knowledge, you become a kind of forward detachment that will scale this knowledge so that as many Ukrainians as possible suffering from the war can receive the help they need. Help that will be provided based on the best world experience And your frontline team should be one of the driving forces behind the National Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Program that we are actively working to implement,” the First Lady said.
Mental health specialists who completed a course at NATAL work in the structures of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Social Policy, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, the Ministry for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine.
It is noted that during the five-day training, they worked out in detail the topic of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which was devoted to separate classes. We got acquainted with the methods of helping victims of gender-based violence during the war, methods of preventing burnout, figured out how to work with the military, veterans, civilians, doctors, law enforcement officers. Special attention was paid to the method of resilience, that is, psychological resilience. The audience also got acquainted with the Israeli experience of reform in the field of mental health.
The course program is adapted to the needs that exist in Ukraine today. Upon completion, supervision is provided: NATAL employees will provide further advice to Ukrainian specialists.
