From tomorrow, July 30, the possibility of exporting Ukrainian electricity to Europe will increase by 2.5 times, and it is planned to increase supplies by 8 times over the year.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this at a government meeting, Ukrinform reports.
“The “energy visa-free regime” with the EU, the “transport visa-free regime” have been concluded and are working, duties and quotas for Ukrainian goods have been abolished. From tomorrow, the opportunities for selling Ukrainian electricity to Europe will increase by 2.5 times. Now we are exporting 100 MW, and we will supply 250 MW already, which we want to increase eight times over the year,” Shmyhal emphasized.
He noted that the potential of Ukraine in the export of electricity is billions of euros.
As Ukrinform reported, on July 25 press service of NPC “Ukrenergo” reported that state revenues from access to interstate power grids at cross-border crossings with Romania and Slovakia for the first 27 days of electricity exports to the EU exceeded UAH 500 million.
