Ex-Chancellor of Germany called for the launch of Nord Stream 2

Berlin must contribute to the speedy commissioning gas pipeline “Nord Stream-2”. This was stated by the ex-Chancellor of Germany Gerhard Schroeder.

In an interview with the publication Stern he noted that SP-2 would reduce the financial burden on the Europeans. In addition, the former chancellor stressed that with the help of the gas pipeline, Germany will be able to solve the problem of the blue fuel shortage.

“The simplest solution is to put Nord Stream 2 into operation, which has already been built,” Schroeder said.

He criticized the German politicians who refused to launch the SP-2. As the ex-chancellor explained, many Europeans already “count every cent.” Schroeder is convinced that the economic situation in the EU will only worsen if Berlin does not allow the commissioning of Nord Stream 2.

Former Vice Chancellor of Germany Robert Habek said that the whole world would perceive the launch of SP-2 as German defeat before Russia.
