Every hryvnia that Ukrainian farmers earn and restored international relations will contribute to the strengthening of our country.
About this in video message Vladimir Zelensky said, Ukrinform reports.
I wish you good health, dear Ukrainians!
Today, the first ship with Ukrainian grain has arrived at the Bosphorus, passing through a special corridor in the Black Sea, which was agreed to unblock our ports.
Our goal now is to have regularity: so that when one ship leaves the port, there should already be other ships – both loaded and those on the way to the port. Continuity and regularity is the right principle. It is needed by all consumers of our agricultural products.
Much has already been said about why it is important to restore Ukrainian agricultural exports. I will add just one detail now. Exports this year are needed so that our farmers and agricultural companies have sufficient resources for sowing next year.
This is a matter of food security for our country as well – we are now providing for the next year.
Russia provoked a food crisis in order to use the supply of wheat, corn, oil as a weapon … Just as it is already doing with gas and oil. Russia creates deficits, plays to raise prices, and when this causes social problems, it requires political concessions. It shouldn’t work with food.
Of course, we understand who we are dealing with. And in Russia they understand that they are missing one of the opportunities to terrorize the world.
But when the world is united, when partners fulfill their obligations, it is possible to achieve the desired result. Let’s see how the grain initiative will work in the coming days.
And I want everyone in Ukraine to realize this – despite the disinformation campaign about the grain initiative that is being spread by the enemies of our country… Every hryvnia that our farmers earn, and all the restored international relations of Ukraine will contribute to the strengthening of our state.
I spoke today with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. Of course, the key theme is the defense support of our struggle for freedom, this is the interaction that we must constantly strengthen for the sake of our common interests.
The head of the OSCE and Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau was in Kyiv today and thanked him for his support.
In negotiations with both Mr. Stoltenberg and Mr. Rau, he paid special attention to the issue of our prisoners of war held by Russia. In particular, this also applies to the Russian terrorist attack in Olenovka, which should become a decisive argument for all civilized countries of the world to officially recognize the Russian Federation as a terrorist state.
What else is needed for this? Isn’t this a brutal and obvious act of terrorism not enough for the relevant decisions to be made in the key capitals of the world to recognize Russia as a terrorist state?
Of course, the invaders receive a principled response to all their crimes on the battlefield as well. In this context, today I want to thank President Biden of the United States and the entire American people for the new defense support package for Ukraine.
The word “HIMARS” has become almost synonymous with the word “justice” for our country, and the Ukrainian defenders will do everything to ensure that the occupiers experience more and more painful losses every week thanks to these very effective systems.
Yes, indeed, we still cannot completely break the advantage of the Russian army in artillery and manpower, and this is very felt in the battles, especially in the Donbass – Peski, Avdiivka, and other areas. It’s just hell. It can’t even be described in words…
And every Ukrainian should always be grateful to our soldiers who defend the Ukrainian positions there, despite the tangible firepower of the terrorists.
But every day, our diplomats and all other representatives of our state are doing everything possible and impossible to get for Ukraine the weapons that will ultimately help stop this horde, and to convince everyone who still sometimes doubts the supplies.
Today, I also thank these people – each and every one – who ensure the supply of weapons, who promote the necessary solutions in the partner countries, who literally live in these arms negotiations.
There are also regular decisions to increase sanctions against the Russian Federation for the war – the United States and Canada have expanded the list of individuals and legal entities against which restrictions are applied.
This is the right path and the EU needs to fill the sanctions pause as soon as possible by adopting a new package of sanctions against the terrorist state. We will work on this in the coming weeks.
In the evening I signed decrees on rewarding our defenders. State awards were given to 167 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 32 of them posthumously. Another decree awarded 16 scouts, one of them posthumously. Also – 122 employees of the Security Service of Ukraine, two – posthumously.
Eternal memory to all who gave their lives for Ukraine!
Eternal glory to all who fight for independence!
Glory to Ukraine!
