Eurovision organizers will not disqualify Ukraine because of Kalush’s call from the stage

Eurovision organizers said they would not disqualify the Kalush Orchestra for calling from the stage to save the defenders of Mariupol, as well as in relation to other contestants who supported Ukraine.

The position of the organizers of the song contest was voiced live by a commentator, Ukrinform reports.

“We understand the deep feelings around Ukraine at the moment and believe that the statements of the Kalush Orchestra and other performers expressing support for the Ukrainian people are of a humanitarian, not political nature,” the Eurovision organizers said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Google searches for Azovstal and Mariupol after the call of the Kalush Orchestra at Eurovision has increased several times.

Recall: having completed his performance, the leader of the Kalush Orchestra Oleg Psyuk turned to the world with these words: “Please help Ukraine, Mariupol. Help Azovstal. right now! (Please help Ukraine, Mariupol. Help Azovstal. Right now!)
