European Commissioner for Internal Affairs arrives in Kyiv

European Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson arrived in Kyiv to discuss with representatives of the Ukrainian government the practical implementation of the Temporary Protection Directive, steps towards EU accession and the EU’s continued support for Ukraine and its people.

According to Ukrinform, about this in Telegram press service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

“Since March 4, under the Directive, almost 3.9 million Ukrainians have registered in the EU. I am here to understand how best to facilitate their support in the EU and Ukraine, including those returning home from the EU. Be sure that no matter what happens in the war, Ukrainians will always be warmly welcomed in the EU,” the press service of the European Commissioner quotes.

As Ukrinform reported, on June 10, following the results of the EU Council of Ministers for Justice and Home Affairs, European Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson said that after the start of the Russian military invasion, 6.5 million refugees entered the EU from Ukraine, of which, at the beginning of June, about 2 5 million have already returned to Ukraine.
