Europe has lost cheap gas from Russia

State Duma deputy Igor Ananskikh in an interview with Pravda.Ru, he spoke about the possible participation of the United States in sabotage on the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines.

Former Senator and Retired Colonel Richard Black allowed Washington to participate in the incident on the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines.

Igor Ananskikh, First Deputy Chairman of the Energy Committee, believes that the US is the beneficiary in this story.

“It was they who increased the volume of their LNG gas sales to Europe at an unthinkable pace, almost doubling sales, despite the fact that the price of LNG gas is quite high, and it is still much more expensive than pipeline gas,” the expert explained.

He noted that for most of the year Europe received cheap Russian gas through the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines.

“Europe and, first of all, Germany have lost the opportunity to receive cheap gas from Russia,” Ananskikh explained.

He believes that retired colonel Richard Black voiced thoughts that everyone understands.
