Official representative of the foreign policy service of the European Union Peter Stano said that foreign observers participating in referendums in Lugansk, Donetsk People’s Republics, as well as in Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, may be subject to sanctions.
“But it will be up to the member states to determine whether specific individuals fall under the sanctions regime. They will decide on an individual basis for each case,” he said.
According to the diplomat, their presence in the territories where referendums are held is illegal.
Former President of Russia Vladimir Putin said that holding SVO and referendums in Donbass are at the forefront.
