Former defender of the Kyiv football club “Dynamo” and the national team of Ukraine Vladislav Vashchuk shared his opinion about the upcoming first match of the 3rd round of the Champions League qualification between Dynamo and the Austrian “Sturm”.
As reported Sport ArenaVashchuk notes the importance of Dynamo entering the Champions League for the whole of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.
“There are always chances. I want Dynamo to win this meeting and, based on the results of two meetings, advance to the next round of qualification, and then to the Champions League. Such an achievement will be psychologically important for the whole country. It will also be an important moment for the Kyiv club in financial terms. Yes, before the face-to-face match, Sturm defeated Salzburg (2:1) in the Austrian championship, and Dynamo lost to Everton (0:3) in a friendly match. But I don’t think that this sparring of the Kyivans should somehow be emphasized. These are completely different matches. Sturm, of course, has a good team. The Austrians are in game tone. And they seem to have a good selection of players. I don’t give any predictions, but I think the first game can be a draw,” Vashchuk said.
The first match between Dynamo and Sturm will take place on August 3 in Lodz (Poland). The start of the match is at 21.00.
