During martial law, 6.4 thousand men liable for military service were detained at the border

Since the introduction of martial law for attempting to illegally cross the border, employees of the State Border Service have detained about 6.4 thousand men liable for military service.

According to Ukrinform, this is reported by GPSU.

“More than 4,000 of these violators were stopped by border guards outside the checkpoints. The rest tried to cheat at passport control. There were men disguised as women, others tried to hide in vehicles, one even closed the baby box. Many cunning people bought fake documents about the presence of various illnesses in them or their children, the funeral of their wives or the birth of children, there was even a man who, according to the entry in the document, was commissioned due to a difficult birth. Banal attempts to bribe border guards were also not uncommon,” the report says.

As noted in the State Border Guard Service, despite the fact that an attempt to illegally cross the state border is punished administratively, many evaders and their assistants resort to related criminal offenses.

Thus, since the beginning of a full-scale war, there have been about 210 attempts to bribe border guards who refused bribes totaling more than 3.5 million hryvnias. The State Border Guard Service reminds that bribery of an official is a criminal offense, liability for which is provided for in Article 369 of the Criminal Code.

Also, based on the materials of the employees of the operational-investigative units of the State Border Service, more than 170 criminal proceedings were initiated for the illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine (Article 332 of the Criminal Code), almost 470 proceedings for forgery of documents and the use of forged documents (Article 358 of the Criminal Code), 10 proceedings for evasion from conscription (Article 336 of the Criminal Code). More than 400 persons have already been declared suspected of committing these crimes.

The State Border Guard Service reminded that for the period of the legal regime of martial law, it is prohibited to leave Ukraine for male citizens of Ukraine aged 18 to 60,with the exception of certain categories of persons.

As Ukrinform reported, SBU eliminated in Kyiv, Nikolaev and Lvov, schemes for the illegal transfer of conscripts abroad.
