This was the leader of the group Kalush Orchestra Oleg Psyuk said at a press conference, the correspondent UKRINFORM.

“People do not realize what trouble my country is going through. And for me to say it was definitely more important than disqualification. If you would have missed the chance, I would not forgive myself. I really hope that someone who saw 200 million will help us “, – the musician said.

He told reporters from different countries of the difficult situation in Mariupol. “Our people are blocked, about a thousand soldiers. Commenting on the results of the audience voting, which was an absolute record in the history of Eurovision and brought 439 points, making the group the winner, he said that he “was very impressed.”

“I want to thank the Ukrainians, the entire diaspora, all the countries that voted for Ukraine on “Eurovision”. This year is very important for Ukraine, and any victory is very important. He urged to listen to Ukrainian music, watch Ukrainian films, come to Ukraine, where there are many talented people.

“Since our culture is also under threat, we are here to show that Ukrainian culture is alive, it exists, Ukrainian music is alive, it is very interesting and has a very beautiful handwriting. And our goal is to make Ukrainian music popular not only in Ukraine, but all over the world, and Eurovision is a good platform for this,” the performer emphasized, inviting everyone next year to “a whole, rebuilt and happy Ukraine at “Eurovision” contest next.

As UKRINFORM reported, on the night of 14 on May 15 in Turin the final of the international song contest “Eurovision 2022”, during which 25 participants. According to the results of voting of the jury and the audience of the competition the representative of Ukraine Group Kalush Orchestra received the highest amount of points – 631 (192 by Jury, from 439 viewers) and won.
