LOS ANGELES (AP) — Luka Doncic tied the score with a 3-pointer at the end of regulation and first overtime to finish with 35 points, 14 rebounds and 13 assists, and the Dallas Mavericks needed two overtimes to prevail Thursday 119- 115 to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Doncic capped his 56th triple-double with the game-changing 3-pointers as Christian Wood had 24 points and 14 rebounds for Dallas’ fourth straight win over the Lakers. Tim Hardaway Jr. added 22 points and eight rebounds for the Mavericks and Spencer Dinwiddie made two baskets in a late 6-0 run that made the difference in the second overtime.

Russell Westbrook had a season-high 28 points and LeBron James had 24 points, 16 rebounds and nine assists for the Lakers, who lost for the second time after a five-game winning streak. The Angels rallied from a 19-point deficit at the end of regulation and came close to a rare victory, but they couldn’t match Doncic’s drama.

The Lakers took the lead on Dennis Schröder’s layup with 1:31 left in the fourth quarter before Westbrook’s two free throws with 11.8 seconds left put them up 101-98. But Doncic moved easily to hit the 3-pointer that forced overtime, his first field goal of the entire quarter, with six seconds to play.

Mexican Juan Toscano-Anderson finished with four points, three rebounds and two assists for the Lakers.
