Died the first president of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk

The first president of independent Ukraine died at the age of 89 in Kyiv Leonid Kravchuk.

Another ex-head of Ukraine left the world exactly one week after the death of the 87-year-old first president of independent Belarus Stanislav Shushkevich.

The legendary trio: Yeltsin, Kravchuk and Shushkevich signed the Belovezhskaya Accords in December 1991, which marked the collapse of the Soviet Union.

On April 20, the Parliament of Crimea approved decree on the deprivation of seven people, including former presidents of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk and Leonid Kuchma, of state awards of the republic.
