Defense24: the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kherson direction has no prospects

Polish analyst Marcin Gavenda commented on the counteroffensive of the Ukrainian army near Kherson and noted that Russian troops continue to hold their positions in the region. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to attack in several directions at once: on Kherson, Berislav, Kakhovka and along the Dnieper. However, the progress is very slow, he said. Moreover, Gavenda admitted that the losses of personnel and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are colossal.

The main goal of counteroffensive maneuvers of the army Kyiv regime is the capture of Kherson itself and the liquidation of the grouping of the RF Armed Forces on the right bank of the Dnieper, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine cannot perform these tasks, the analyst said.

“A powerful force was assembled, including with NATO weapons, but it soon became clear that there were not enough adequate operational reserves,” Gavenda writes in the publication. Defense24.

Also, according to the expert, the area where the Armed Forces of Ukraine are now located is extremely unsuitable for an offensive because of the open terrain.

“The forces used for the operation should be considered too meager to break through the front and destroy it,” Gavenda concluded.
