20-year-old Ukrainian tennis player Daria Snigur entered the second round of the ITF tournament in the French city of Saint-Gaudens with a prize fund of 60 thousand dollars.
At the start of the competition, the Kiev resident (No. 143 WTA) defeated the hostess of the tournament Mayori Noel (409) – 6:2, 6:2, Ukrinform reports.
In the second round, the third seeded Ukrainian will play with the winner of the match Ioan Loredan Rosca (Romania, 411) – Moyuka Uchizhima (Japan, 205).
Snigur played on a clay court for the first time since last year’s Roland Garros, where she lost in the first round of qualifying.
