A cache of 400 kilos of cocaine was found last Wednesday, January 11, distributed in boxes of bananas in the municipality of Mazatlán, Sinaloa.

Members of the Ministry of National Defense (Sedena), in addition, They arrested a person and seized a trailer that was transporting boxes with the fruit.

In the vicinity of the toll booth “El Mármol”, in the municipality of Mazatlán, the soldiers detected a tractor-trailer that met the characteristics of which they were aware.

The Secretary of the Navy (semar) dealt a blow to drug trafficking during the first days of 2023, by seizing 895 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride. The drug was being transported in a small vessel through the waters of the Mexican Pacific, off the coast of Chiapas.

“In recent days, he managed to seize approximately 895 (eight hundred and ninety-five) kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, on board a smaller vessel; as well as the arrest of four people, presumed lawbreakers,” the agency mentioned.

In addition to seizing the narcotics, personnel attached to the Sixteenth Naval Region four people were apprehended. The detainees and the illicit shipment were made available to the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR)who will carry out the corresponding investigation.

“The alleged drug, as well as the people, were made available to the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic, Subdelegation of Tapachula, Chiapas, for the integration of the corresponding investigation folder,” Semar reported on January 4 in a statement.

The confiscation was the result of the collection and analysis of information, as well as coordination of air and ground units, carried out as part of the program Operation at sea by the Mexican Navy “in order to guarantee and maintain the rule of law in the Mexican Marine Zones,” according to the agency in its statement.

A seizure of similar magnitude occurred on December 26, 2022, when the Semar located close to a ton of cocaine hydrochloride floating adrift off the coast of the state of Chiapas. The drug was distributed in 46 packages that contained 920 packages with the drug with an amount greater than 900 kilograms.
