The French publishing house Grasset publishes on Wednesday, May 11, a collection of key speeches by Vladimir Zelensky, delivered since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24
This is reported TF1 inforeports Ukrinform.
The collection “For Ukraine” (220 pages) consists of 23 speeches, “the most significant of those that President Zelensky has delivered since the start of the war,” the publishing house reports. The price of the collection is 10 euros.
“It contains dramatic speeches of the first day, big speeches before institutions: the US Congress, the parliaments of France and Britain, as well as appeals to the Ukrainian people, which are broadcast on social networks,” the message says.
The initiative of the publishing house, which received a green light from the Ukrainian authorities “based on authorized texts,” is “the first world edition of Zelensky’s speeches,” Grasset says. All sales proceeds are planned to be donated to support the Ukrainian people.
The speeches of the President of Ukraine have been translated from English. “The idea to publish this book came to me in early March,” said publisher Charles Danzig.
“The representatives of the Ukrainian President gave me their consent and the official text in English,” he added.
As noted, the fact that English translations were taken as a basis made it possible to speed up the translation into French, as well as provide for publications around the world in the short term, given the shortage of Ukrainian translators.
