Chinese army to test non-nuclear missile off the coast of Taiwan

Eastern Command Area Chinese army announced that on the evening of August 2, military exercises will begin in six areas of the sea around Taiwan. The events will last until August 7th.

The Chinese Armed Forces are planning to conduct long-range shooting in the Taiwan Strait and test non-nuclear missiles.

The decision to conduct military exercises was a response to the visit of the speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan, where the American politician flew in on Tuesday.

Earlier, China strongly protested Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan. The Chinese Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the visit of the speaker of the US House of Representatives worsened China-US relations, violated China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and shook peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.
