President Volodymyr Zelensky considers the decision to grant Ukraine candidate status for membership in the European Union a victory that has been awaited for 120 days and 30 years.
He noted this in circulationposted on Instagram, Ukrinform reports.
“Just received a nomination. This is victory! Waited 120 days and 30 years. And then we will defeat the enemy and we will rest. Or maybe we’ll rebuild Ukraine first, and then we’ll have a rest. Or maybe we will even win, rebuild, join the EU and then we will have a rest. Or maybe we won’t rest. Although no, the children will be offended. But we will definitely win!” the head of state stressed.
As reported, the heads of state and government of the European Union on Thursday decided to grant Ukraine the status of a candidate country for joining the EU.
