Britain is preparing to transfer two anti-mine ships to Ukraine

A large group of military sailors are being trained in the UK, preparing to operate anti-mine ships, two of which are soon to be transferred to the Ukrainian Navy.

According to Ukrinform, Ukrainian Ambassador to the UK Vadim Prystaiko announced this on the air of the Obshchestvenny TV channel.

“Great Britain continues to support Ukraine in the confrontation with the Russian invaders, including preparing to transfer several warships to our state. I recently visited one of them,” Prystaiko said.

According to him, our soldiers are being trained on the ship.

“After the start of a full-scale war in Ukraine, our priorities have shifted – we need anti-mine ships. Two is the starting number we’re working with right now. These are warships that are in service with Her Majesty’s naval forces,” the ambassador said.

These ships will be updated, equipped with special equipment that Ukraine needs, he said.

The Ambassador of Ukraine added that the support program for the Ukrainian Navy is part of the United Kingdom’s ongoing commitment to support Ukraine in its fight against an unprovoked Russian invasion and provides for more than 2.3 billion pounds of military assistance, includes more than 5 thousand units of a new generation of NLAW light anti-tank weapons and jet multiple rocket launchers M270.
