Biomethane allowed to be supplied to the GTS network of Ukraine

The National Commission for State Regulation in the Spheres of Energy and Utilities (NEURC) has settled the issues of supplying biomethane to the GTS of Ukraine.

This is reported State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving in Ukrainereports Ukrinform.

“On August 2 this year, the NEURC adopted a resolution “On Amendments to the Code of the Gas Transportation System and the Code of Gas Distribution Systems”, which regulates the supply of biomethane in the network,” the report says.

It is noted that the resolution provides for an increase in the molar part of the oxygen content in natural gas from 0.02 mol. %:

– up to 0.2 mol. % for biomethane access to the gas transmission system;

– up to 1.0 mol. % for biomethane access to gas distribution systems.

The State Energy Efficiency Committee notes that biomethane producers will be able to apply to GTS / GDS operators for technical conditions for the supply of biomethane to the network.
