Berlin urges Germans to abandon “comfort”

The German Ministry of Finance does not guarantee households in Germany more gasthan “vital”.

This publication reports The National.

The authors note that German citizens will be asked to limit themselves to what is necessary and refuse to use gas “for their comfort.” This also applies to electricity, and the education system and healthcare are not immune from possible power outages.

“In the event of a shortage of gas, consumers must also give up the “comfortable” part of the gas consumption,” the German Finance Ministry responded to a deputy’s request for emergency plans.

It has already been noted that with all the signs of a reduction in energy consumption in Germany, “factors independent of the FRG are still causing the depletion of gas reserves.”

Obviously, the problem will worsen against the backdrop of the accident on the Nord Stream gas pipeline near the Danish island of Bornholm.
