The Belarusian Ministry of Defense today began a ten-day mobilization exercise with the military commissariats of the Gomel region, which borders Ukraine.

“In the period from June 22 to July 1, 2022, in accordance with the Plan for the training of the armed forces in the 2021/2022 academic year, under the leadership of the head of the main organizational and mobilization department – deputy chief of the general staff of the armed forces, a mobilization exercise is being conducted with the military commissariats of the Gomel region,” the statement says. in the message.
The purpose of the exercises is to test the readiness of the military commissariats to carry out the tasks of mobilizing those liable for military service. During the exercises, military registration and enlistment offices will notify those liable for military service about mobilization and call them to the points of departure to military units. During the stay at the military training camp, military personnel will have classes.
The Ministry of Defense of Belarus noted that such exercises are held annually, the last time they were held in the Mogilev region. Unlike previous exercises, this time the mobilized will not be sent to military units, and after the formation of teams, all those liable for military service will be sent home.
It is also reported that in order to create a situation close to real, the participation of units of special operations forces is planned in the exercises.
In mid-June, command and staff exercises were held in Belarus to prepare logistic support units to perform tasks in a “dynamically changing environment.”
Earlier, a sudden check of the reaction forces began in the armed forces of Belarus, the purpose of which was to assess the readiness of personnel to respond to sudden crises. According to the Ministry of Defense, in early June, the third stage of this check was underway.
