APU shot down seven of the eight missiles that the Russians launched from the Caspian Sea, one hit the air defense system in the Lviv region

“On August 2, at about 17:00, the invaders launched a missile attack from the Caspian Sea region. Strategic bombers Tu-95 (Tu-160) were used. In total, eight cruise missiles of the X-101 (X-555) type were fired across the territory of Ukraine in the direction of the central, southern and western regions of Ukraine,” Ignat said.

As noted, seven of the eight missiles were shot down by the air defense of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Six missiles were eliminated by anti-aircraft missile forces and one was shot down by an Air Force fighter.

“Unfortunately, there is one hit in the Lviv region – an anti-aircraft missile system was hit. The damage and the victims are being specified,” Ignat added.
