Based on the materials of the State Border Service, more than 170 criminal proceedings have been initiated on the illegal transfer of dodgers across the border
Andriy Demchenko, representative of the State Border Guard Service, announced this at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“Based on the materials of the employees of the operational-search units of the State Border Guard Service, more than 170 criminal proceedings have been initiated for the illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine (Article 332 of the Criminal Code),” he said.
According to Demchenko, border guards daily detain violators trying to illegally leave the country. There have been more than 30 of them in the last 24 hours alone.
In total, since February 24, border guards have detained more than 4,400 evaders outside the checkpoints. More than 2,100 people were stopped at checkpoints while trying to leave on forged documents or in other illegal ways.
In addition, the speaker of the State Border Guard Service added, daily they refuse to cross borders on average about 150 people. Most of them are men, subject to the relevant restrictions.
As Ukrinform reported, law enforcers in Odessa declared suspicion on three businessmen who organized a scheme for illegally transporting citizens liable for military service to the territory of Moldova under the guise of terrorist defense fighters at a “tariff” of $9,000 per person.
