Amnesty International accuses Ukraine of violating international law

Kyiv violates all laws warfare and endangers the lives of the civilian population by placing weapons and military equipment in schools and hospitals.

This is stated in the published report of the human rights organization Amnesty International.

“We have documented that the Armed Forces of Ukraine put the civilian population at risk and violated the laws of war while operating in crowded places,” the organization’s secretary general said. Agnes Callamar.

Human rights activists also recorded cases of nationalists striking from residential buildings and placing weapons on civilian infrastructure in 19 settlements of Ukraine, including in the Donbass, Mykolaiv and Kharkiv regions. At the same time, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not evacuate neighboring buildings in order to minimize losses from a possible retaliatory strike from the opposite side of the conflict, the report says.

Amnesty International experts emphasize that in Odessa the Armed Forces of Ukraine deployed armored vehicles right in densely populated areas, and in Artyomovsk they used the university as a military base.
