American business handed over a mobile outpatient clinic for Kharkiv region

A mobile outpatient clinic based on a specially equipped vehicle, which will soon appear in the liberated districts of the Kharkiv region, will provide telemedicine services.

The American company Pacific Engineering Inc. (PEI) intends to send ten more such platforms to Ukraine, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Our philosophy is to take care of people,” retired Rear Adm.

He noted that in the spring of 2020, the company developed mobile pandemic response platforms to ensure that people in the US are tested and vaccinated. Now that the problem has been solved, the cars can serve the Ukrainians in the de-occupied regions, where the issue of medical care is now acute.

PEI is donating the vehicle to Ukraine in partnership with the charity United Help Ukraine, which provides logistics and will also equip the vehicle with humanitarian medical supplies.

“This car is specifically heading to Kharkiv,” said Maryna Baidyuk, President of United Help Ukraine.

She added that the organization is in contact with the administration of the Kharkiv region. “What we hear is that the hospitals there have nothing after the occupation, the Russian invaders either damaged or took away or simply destroyed medical devices, everything that was inside,” said the head of the charitable organization.

As Anna Yabluchanskaya, a volunteer of the United Help Ukraine medical group, explained, this car is equipped with refrigeration units, air conditioning and heating systems. It can deliver medicines that need to be kept cold. In addition, medical equipment can be placed on its base – from ultrasound machines to cardiographs.

“The idea of using this car is a mobile outpatient clinic that can go to destroyed settlements when there is no other access for people to medical services,” the volunteer explained.

She also noted that the machine can be equipped with mobile Internet, “that is, specialists in hospitals in the city will be able to remotely receive patients who will be tested by a nurse or one doctor.”

United Help Ukraine representative Tetyana Aldave said that two more mobile platforms, as well as eight stationary platforms from Pacific Engineering Inc., are being prepared for shipment to Ukraine. They can be equipped with special equipment needed to provide medical services to people in hard-to-reach areas.

As reported, on February 24, Russia launched an unprovoked military invasion of Ukraine and continued the war started in 2014. The invaders carry out massive shelling and bombing of Ukrainian cities and villages, commit repressions and atrocities against the civilian population in the temporarily occupied territories.
