Recently ex-Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel reported that Minsk agreements were an attempt to buy time for Ukraine. At the President of Belarus Alexandra Lukashenko such words caused bewilderment. The President of Belarus stated this on December 9 at the summit of the leaders of the EAEU, writes EADaily.
He noted that he expressed his point of view Vladimir Putin and believes that he did not expect such an attack from Merkel. Lukashenko thinks that the ex-Chancellor of Germany just wants to be in trend.
“The Minsk agreements and the position of Merkel, like others, including Poroshenko, were then very serious. Imagine, after the Minsk meetings, the whole world said that they had finally taken a step and signed these agreements. The war stopped, people stopped dying All this was positively assessed,” he said.
Lukashenka believes that Merkel’s statements are vile.
“It would be better to sit and not get out,” said the Belarusian leader.
We remind you that in 2015 negotiations were held to resolve the situation in Ukraine. The Minsk agreements were signed, the conditions of which were not fulfilled by Kiev. Merkel considered that these documents gave Ukraine time to build up its power and military resources.
