After the attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the block conductor at the Odessa field captured by the Russian Federation was seriously damaged, a NASA satellite recorded a fire

Information about the results of the Ukrainian strike Center for Investigative Journalism received from their sources.

At the wells of the Odessa gas field, about 60 km northeast of Zmeiny Island, three block-conductors (BK-1, 2, 3) were installed, there were also two self-elevating floating drilling rigs – “Tavrida” and “Ukraine” (renamed by the Russian Federation in “Crimea-1”).

“During the attack, the block conductor BK-1, installed at eight wells, received serious damage. Apparently, the strike damaged the gas pipeline that runs from the block conductor to the Golitsynskoye field and further to the Glebovsky underground gas storage facility in the occupied Crimea. The Tavrida drilling rig, which was standing near BK-1, was blown away, but it is afloat. And at the SPBU “Ukraine” the tower was cut off, on which the Russians installed electronic intelligence equipment, ”the sources of the TsZhR report.

They also note that after the Russian military installed reconnaissance equipment on stolen Ukrainian civilian objects in the Black Sea, these objects became legitimate military targets for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

According to satellite images published by Radio Liberty from the American aerospace agency NASA, as of June 22, the fire at the block conductor at the Odessa field continued.

NASA first recorded the fire on June 20, when Russian authorities accused the Ukrainian military of hitting drilling platforms. There were three fires at that time.

On June 21, the fire intensified. At the same time, the Russian authorities said that the fire had approached the well.

As reported on June 20 APU launched a missile strike on the Chornomorneftegaz gas production platforms seized during the occupation of Crimea on the Black Sea shelf, where the Russian military later installed radar stations that used to observe for surface conditions. The most severe was the first blow to the block conductor BK-1.

Maritime expert, head of the monitoring group of the Black Sea Strategic Research Institute, editor-in-chief of the BlackSeaNews portal Andrey Klimenko points outthat on offshore platforms and block conductors of the Chernomorneftegaz enterprise stolen by Russia from Ukraine, the Russian military installed electronic warfare and radar control of the underwater, surface and air situation, which cover the entire Ukrainian sector of the Black Sea. That is why the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine decided to launch missile strikes against them.

At 4 am on February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a “special military operation” in the occupied Donbas. Russia launched missile strikes on Ukrainian territory and launched a direct full-scale invasion in four directions. The armed forces of Ukraine are rebuffing the enemy, the blitzkrieg plan – to capture Kyiv in two or three days – failed, the Russian army retreated from the capital.
